Review & Giveaway : Earth Science "Olive and Avocado Deep Conditioning Masque for Hair" and "Purfection Hand Cream"

Natural beauty company Earth Science recently provided me with some sample packets of their new Olive + Avocado Deep Conditioning Masque for Hair and Purfection Hand Cream to try out. Here's the deets on these two products from the Earth Science website:

Deep Conditioning Masque, $10.45 (6 oz.): "Repairs, nourishes and strengthens hair inside and out. Luscious deep-conditioning masque repairs dry, damaged, color treated or over processed hair. Penetrates and coats the hair shaft in natural silk protein to strengthen and nourish inside and out. Leaves hair soft, tangle free and smooth, not sticky or weighed down."

Purfection Hand Cream, $12.95 (4 0z.): "Rich in vitamins C and E, aloe vera, shea butter and jojoba, this luxurious hydrating cream soothes and softens hands. Pure and effective, this is our best skin remedy for dry, chapped hands. pH 5.5."

All Earth Science products are free of animal ingredients (vegan and animal friendly!), parabens, petroleum based ingredients and artificial colors.

The Olive + Avocado Deep Conditioning Masque left my hair surprisingly smooth and hydrated. I've experimented with a lot of hair masques, treatments and conditioners in the past and this was definitely one of the best that I've tried so far. My hair is quite coarse, grease prone at the roots and dry at the tips. I trim the ends of my hair regularly but the tips usually look (and feel) a bit fried and crunchy. My hair has way too much volume so its always massively thinned out resulting in a lot of fly-aways. Geez, I could just go on and on about my hair woes!

After using the Deep Conditioning Masque my hair was silky and the fly-aways were really smoothed out. My hair was hydrated but the masque didn't make my hair greasy or oil prone. Although I lost a little volume (which I prefer), my hair also maintained some body and wave (also preferable). I'm super pleased that my hair now looks better than it has in a long time!

...Now on to the Purfection Hand Cream. I have to admit that although I love my beauty and skin care products (possibly way too much), one thing I don't use often is hand lotion or creams. My skin is never really dry (oh hair, why can't you follow suit?) so I've never felt the need to lotion it up. I tried the lotion anyway, you know, just for you guys. The verdict? The Purfection Hand Cream was thick and luxurious, but not greasy and kept my hands soft and smooth. I also really loved the smell. If you've been following this blog, you probably know by now that I'm not big on heavily scented products. The Purfection Hand Cream has a dainty, appealing Honeysuckle scent- slightly floral, slightly citrusy, slightly sweet.

And yet, this review somehow doesn't feel complete. For those of you hand lotion/cream lovers out there, I want to share the rest of my samples with you in hopes that you'll let me know what you think of this product.... so without further ado, on to the giveaway!

i think my favorite all-around product is sheaterra organics vanilla shea butter. i use it on lips, face, skin all over, hair, everything... i do have to shampoo it out of hair or use really super teeny amounts, otherwise it looks too greasy, but it's a great lip balm, night face treatment, good for stubborn dry skin, etc
