Review : ProFlowers Hibiscus Bonsai

ProFlowers recently allowed me to test out their gift services by shipping me an adorable little Hibiscus bonsai. I had always wondered what the condition of a live plant would be after it had been shipped via gift service (is that weird?). You have to admit, if you haven't shipped a live plant before there are sooo many questions to be answered. Would the leaves fall of? Would the dainty branches break off? Would I open the box to find soil spilled everyhwhere? Would the ceramic planter splinter into tiny pieces? Well, after my little potted plant arrived, I finally had all the answers to those questions.

First off, I was really pleased with how well everything worked out. The tree arrived in perfect condition and was shipped very neatly and securely, just as a gift should be! A Plastic sheet was wrapped tightly around the base of the plant to prevent the soil from flying around and the branches weren't broken off or bent thanks to a little cardboard barrier that provided a nice bumper from the harsh outside world. Oh, and not a single stray leaf was in sight!

The tree comes in a space friendly 8" ceramic planter which makes it perfect for any type of outdoor area. I have limited outdoor space and the planter was the perfect size for placing on my window sill. The surface of the soil is covered in a little bit of moss and stones which really gives the gift a nice, extra touch.

The flowers bloom in the summer and I can't wait for the little buds on the plant to mature into beautiful white and red hibiscus flowers. I have to say, I would choose a live plant over a bouquet of flowers any day since I can enjoy the prettiness of this plant for years and years. This item definitely makes a wonderful gift item and if you are thinking of buying a gift for just about anyone, live plants are a wonderful treat!

**I was sent a bonsai plant from Proflowers for review purposes and allowed to post my thoughts at my discretion. I did not receive any monetary compensation for this post & was not obligated to give a positive review of the product. All opinions expressed here are mine.**
