In celebration of Cascadian Farm's recent partnership with Zynga's Farmville, MyBlogSpark has invited me to sample an array of Cascadian Farm and Farmville goodies and also share the same goodies with you! My pack included:
- A box of Cascadian Farm Organic Fruit and Nut Granola
- A box of Cascadian Farm Organic Harvest Berry Chewy Granola Bars
- A Cascadian Farm free product coupon
- and a $10 Farmville game card.
Cascadian Farm Organic's Fruit and Nut Granola is a hearty and filling treat that is packed with flavor, sweetness and crunch. The granola itself has a fresh aroma and a wonderful crunch, while the combination of fruits and nuts (raisins, pumpkin seeds, almonds, sunflower seeds, cherry, cranberry) is appealing and tasty. It was also nice that, as a conventional product, the salt content of this particular product wasn't too alarming at 3% DV per 3/4 cup (according to the box's nutrition label). Munching on the product by itself, I found it a little too sweet for my taste, but some of the others in my household liked the sweetness as is. Personally, I found the product to be much better after the addition of some soymilk which seemed to cut down on the sweetness quite a bit. This granola would make a nice, quick breakfast item for one of those days when I'm craving something a little sweet!
Cascadian Farm Organic's Harvest Berry Chewy Granola Bars were exactly what you'd expect them to be: chewy, sticky and filled with yummy, chewy raisins, blueberries and cranberries. The flavor of the cranberries, raisins and blueberries is very apparent and each contributes distinctly to the overall flavor of the granola bar. Like the granola cereal, I found this product to be a bit more sweet than I would have liked but I can't say it isn't any sweeter than the standard fare. I think these would be great for those who'd like a high energy snack (13g of sugar per 35g bar according to the product label).
