Paul by Paul Smith AW10 Collection

From the Paul Smith website:

"The Autumn Winter 2010 collection is inspired by the wintry landscapes of the grand outdoors. Taking influence from the natural elements, the collection pays particular attention to the Northern Lights and the Polar Regions of Scandinavian that are graced by the Aurora Borealis phenomenon.

Classic separates are subtly reinterpreted with heavyweight outerwear complemented by modern tailoring and a tomboyish edge. Unstructured quilted jackets, Fair Isle knits and faded denims sit effortlessly with thickly painted stripes, complex checks and graphic tees.

Layering is key; oversized knits are piled over skinnier shapes, retaining a slim, feminine silhouette. Brushed cotton shirting, softly laundered for a warm finish, is buttoned over cosy thermals and vests.

Core denims are an integral part of the collection with a diverse and varied range of fits, styles and washes. Extreme stretch fabrics guarantee a super tight fit. Over-dyed, rigid textures have been softened for an easier fit."
